What's up with "Shiva"?

Shiva is a handle that I have been using since October of 2001. While most of you probably know Shiva as the icy eidolon from the Final Fantasy games that can totally spank a bad boy's arse in a heartbeat...Shiva was my very first role-playing character. While my character was not a summon creature, but a summoner, I just liked the name Shiva. Since not much was known about people out of character, we often used our character names as nicknames, so Shiva was added to my list of nicknames. About 20 rp characters later, Shiva is still my favorite to play and she currently is the manager of a wonderful rp group.

The legend of the snow faerie shiva is basically that there is a magical being that brings the first snow in winter. Some cultures believe this being to be in the form of a small child, other's a beautiful goddess, and to some, it is even a burly man that brings forth winter. Needless to say, the creature that brings forth the winter and it's first snow, is Shiva.

Other Stuff

I have been drawing since I was two years old. My grandfather was a painter and first introduced me to creative expression through paper and markers at that tender age.

I have never been formally schooled in art. I just draw because I enjoy doing so. I loved taking art in school and took a few art classes in high school. Most of what you see is self taught with the "How did they do that? Well I want to do that too!" attitude.

I first got interest in anime during the summer of 2000. I was working a billion and a half hours that summer at a local amusement park. One day I got an afternoon off. I flicked on the tube and there on Cartoon Network were these funny little girls running around in sailor outfits. At first I thought that it was cheezy and lame, but by the end of that summer I was hooked ^_^

Sailor Moon became my hobby. I even used to host the online organization called Sailor Scouts United...but due to time and funding, that soon became a distant memory. *sobs a little* My love of Sailor Moon sent me on the internet to learn more...and guess what? I found out there was lots more cartoon out there like this. Nawww, you say...but yes, they are out there! So although most people think Sailor Moon is lame, and that the dubs on Cartoon Network are lamer, that's what in fact, pushed me into the wonderful world of anime.

Asides from drawing I am an avid role-player with the Legends of Ophiuchus role-playing group. I mostly enjoy medieval rp, but am open to most anything ^_^

Wanna hear me b*tch...then read my rants...
