August 30th , 2004 Summer is almost over, which royally sucks the root Every summer I promise myself that I am going to do more, go more places and what not...and well it never happens. This summer is no exception. So that's pretty bummin'. On the plus side, MoJo got me an early birthday present on Saturday. We were at the mall just chillin' and for shtiz n' giggles we decided to see if there would be any out of market NFL Jerseys in any of the stores. For those of you who don't know, we live in Maine. So there's so much Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics and Bruins stuff in stores that it makes me want to puke. Since it's football season, there's "patriots championship" crap EVERYWHERE. I think I even saw some champion ship t.p. Wipe with Brady! Anyhoo... lo and behold, we found a store that had out of market jerseys...and to my surprise, an abundance of Priest Holmes jerseys. Now all you suck up fan boys can go stick yourselves. I was a P.H. fan when he was hurtin' and when no one wanted to give him a chance. Anyhoo, we grabbed what we thought was a regular old jersey. Comes to find out, it was mislabeled and it was one of those authentic jerseys (with the stitched on letters and name, and official patches) that SHOULD have been $189-200. We snagged it for $100. Talk about spiff! So I've got a posh jersey and MoJo's sobbing because his Bills Flutie jersey from "the day" is worn and torn and there is no way in heck that they are going to be making a Chargers Flutie jersey. August 30th, 2004 This week I'd like to dedicated this miss-spelled monologue..to some guy who had nothing better to do than email Shiva..about spelling...but in fact..Shiva draws. Drawing is when you make squiggly lines into pictures. Not when you put text in bubbles. See thats technically my job. So anyways. thiss weks comc iz rely fune. eye lik thee fac tht misz malett iz werin difrentt outfis an blah blah.. Okay...you get the point. I'm not naturally a horrible person. Just on occasions. My point, WEB COMICS ARE FUN! Yes web comics are fun. They are imperfect art that makes the drawer happy and hopefully the drawee(aka viewer). Never is it a business (or for us it isn't. I couldn't sell a life preserver to a drowning man). We do it cause we love it...and if we get fans..then awesome! Web comics are also awesome because they're peoples ideas showcased for everyone to see. 15 years ago if you wanted to see people's ideas you had to have televison. The internet changed the rules so that all people with internet access and a little wham bam app or coding skill could display their talents..or their fun. So to the emailer who sent a comment to Shiva. I invite you to show the world your web comic. Show us your writings. Show us your talents. I'm sure you have some..but until your a Ken Akamatsu, William Shakespeare, or Billy Joel ....your opinion in the words of Triumph the comic dog......are good enough for me to poop on.
